Stepping Up to Our Sustainable Energy Objectives From the outset, the developers of Block 5 were determined to develop an exciting new office space in Riverside that was going to be in the vanguard of design style and sustainability. Block 5 was designed to harmonise with its surroundings, leveraging thermal mass for passive heating and cooling and maximising the use of natural daylight to illuminate the interior, an effort to reduce energy demand. A significant development milestone in our green initiatives journey was achieved with the completion of a solar power installation in April 2024, at a capital cost of R 2.1 million.
